Guide Of Eid Prayer To Make Worship More Solemn And Free Of COVID-19

JAKARTA - Spokesman of the Task Force for handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito asked the public to pay attention to the guidelines for the implementation of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri prayers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is to prevent the transmission of the virus in the community.

This guide has been regulated in the Circular letter of the Minister of Religious Affairs No.7 of 2021.

"There needs to be good preparation, to perform solemn worship, but still be safe. Considering we are celebrating Eid al-Fitr for the second time during the COVID-19 pandemic", Wiku said in his written statement, Wednesday, May 12.

He called on all parties, including local governments, to implement these guidelines as best they can. "God willing, our seriousness in running this can all produce results for better COVID-19 conditions in the future", he said.

While related to the practice of worship attached to the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) encourages the distribution of zakat, infaq, alms, conducted through official institutions such as the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) or other Ammil Zakat institutions.

Here is the guide to the implementation of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri prayer during the pandemic by the Circular letter of the Minister of Religious Affairs No.7 of 2021:

Before Eid Prayer:

1. The implementation of takbiran is limited to or a maximum of 10 percent of the capacity of places of worship. In addition, there are no roving activities;

2. The Committee for Islamic Holidays or Eid al-Fitr to find out zoning status information to the regional task force at the village or village level;

3. Preparing supervisors for the implementation of health protocols.

During Eid Prayer:

1. Only done in open spaces and allowed in RT environments located in yellow and green zones.

2. Must implement strict health protocols:

a. Not exceeding 50 percent capacity;

b. provide temperature checking equipment;

c. Not followed by elderly people (elderly) or newly recovered people or also who have just returned from the trip;

d. Wear a mask from the beginning to come home;

e. Shorten the khutbah to a maximum of 20 minutes by using transparent delimiters among others;

f. Avoid shaking hands and physical contact.

After Eid prayer:

1. Friendship is only done with the nearest environment.

2. Do not do an open house or halal bi halal in the office or community environment.
