Gigiache Until Failing To Apply For Suspension, Nikita Mirzani Remains Behind The Bargaining Of Pondok Bambu Detention Center
JAKARTA The panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) rejected the request to postpone the detention of the defendant Nikita Mirzani in the case of alleged threats and money laundering (TPPU) of the skincare boss, Reza Gladys.
"Regarding the suspension of detention, the panel has been deliberated and for the time being the defendant remains in detention," said Chief Judge Kairul Saleh during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Antara, Thursday, September 4.
Previously, Nikita had submitted a letter requesting a suspension of detention to the judge after the witness examination trial. However, the panel of judges decided to reject the request. That way, Nikita remains in the Pondok Bambu Detention Center and cannot breathe free air.
The trial was then postponed again and is scheduled to resume on Thursday, September 11 with an expert examination agenda from the Public Prosecutor (JPU). The postponement was made because Nikita admitted to being toothache.
The South Jakarta District Court implemented an online trial system for this case, following a security situation that was deemed not conducive due to rampant demonstrations in a number of areas, including Jakarta. The system is valid on September 1, 2025.
In the previous trial, the Public Prosecutor charged Nikita Mirzani with threatening Reza Gladys to pay Rp4 billion as a mouth shut money related to Reza's skincare product which was said to have not been registered with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).
