Cool! Lebak Regency Government Bans ASN From Using 3 Kg Elpiji, Asked To Switch To Non-subsidized
State civil servants (ASN) within the Lebak Regency Government (Pemkab), Banten, are prohibited from using subsidized LPG gas cylinders or 3 kilograms (kg) LPG.
This policy aims to make the use of 3 kg LPG really right on target for the underprivileged.
Head of the Trade Division of the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) of Lebak Regency, Yani, said the ban had been stated in a circular that was socialized to all ASN.
"This prohibition is an affirmation from the leadership so that ASN does not use 3 kg LPG. Because the tube is a government subsidy that should be intended for the poor," Yani confirmed, Thursday, September 4.
However, Yani emphasized that the circular did not include sanctions for ASN who violated it. However, this policy is more a moral appeal so that ASN has a social responsibility by not taking the rights of underprivileged citizens.
"In the circular, there is no discussion of sanctions. So there is more appeal and affirmation. The hope is that ASN will have awareness to comply," he explained.
According to Yani, ASN is advised to use a non-subsidized LPG measuring 5 kg or 12 kg. Non-subsidized tubes have pink colors, while LPG is 3 kg green.
Furthermore, he explained that the purchase of 3 kg LPG is now required to use an ID card according to regulations from the central government and Pertamina. This is intended to ensure that the distribution of subsidies is more targeted.
"With an ID card, each purchase is recorded on the base logbook. So it can be seen how many tubes a month can be purchased. Ideally, there are four tubes in the household, while MSMEs can be up to seven tubes," said Yani.
He also emphasized that people should buy 3 kg LPG at the official base in order to get the highest retail price (HET) that has been set.

In Lebak Regency, 3 kg HET LPG is set at IDR 19,000 per tube for zone 1 (region with distribution distance below 60 km) and IDR 19,500 per tube for zone 2 (over 60 km).
"If you buy it at the base, first, the price is according to the HET. Second, the subsidy can be right on target because the purchase is recorded based on the ID card," concluded Yani.
