Kemendikdasmen Prioritizes PIP 2026 For 18.59 Million Siswav
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has set the Indonesia Smart Program (PIP) as one of the priorities for the 2026 budget.
This program targets 18.59 million elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational school students as recipients of assistance by adjusting the cost unit to make it right on target.
Minister of Dikdasmen Abdul Mu'ti emphasized that PIP is expected to expand access to education while reducing the cost of school fees for students.
"The government wants to ensure that all school-age children can continue their education without any problems with costs. Therefore, PIP in 2026 targets 18.59 million students by adjusting the cost unit," he said in a working meeting with Commission X of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 3.

In addition to PIP, the government has also prepared IDR 13.6 trillion for allowances of 798,905 non-ASN teachers in public and private schools, as well as IDR 14.18 trillion for the development and revitalization of 11,686 formal and non-formal education units.
The learning digitization program received an allocation of IDR 188.65 billion for content development and technical guidance, without the procurement of new devices.
