Police Arrest 4 Women Persecuting At Ciawitali Market Garut

Garut Police arrested four women who carried out the persecution and spread videos of their violent acts on social media which then caused unrest in the people of Garut Regency, West Java.

"The perpetrator had recorded (violent acts) and the video went viral on social media," said Head of the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKPJoko Prihatin as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 3.

The four women who were named as suspects, namely SAS (19), YA (23), N (54), and SP (19), are all Garut residents. Meanwhile, the victim is also a woman with the initials SA (20), also a resident of Garut.

The four suspects were reported on August 30, 2025, in connection with the criminal act of beatings at Ciawitali Market, Tarogong Kidul, Garut.

The perpetrator deliberately recorded the action using a cell phone camera and spread it on social media, even though the perpetrator was eventually deleted because it was busy being discussed on social media.

Joko conveyed that his staff immediately carried out an investigation until they finally found the whereabouts of the four perpetrators who were arrested in different places, namely in the Tarogong Kidul area and Cikelet District.

"We managed to secure the four perpetrators, two perpetrators SA and YA were secured around Santolo Beach, Cikelet District on Monday, two other perpetrators N and SP were secured around Guntur Terminal, Tarogong Kidul," he said.

The abuse case began because of the offense of one of the SAS suspects against the victim who accused her of being a prostitute, then SAS informed his relative, namely another suspect.

All of the suspects then went to the victim who was in the vicinity of the Ciawitali Market park, then there was persecution by grabbing his hair, being slapped, and being beaten and then followed by other suspects.

Tersangka SAS, lanjut Joko, tidak merasa puas dengan aksinya itu, lalu mengambil gunting dan menggunduli kepala korban, bahkan sampai menelanjanginya.

"The motive of the perpetrators is revenge and hurt because they feel slandered by the victim," he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect must now languish in the Garut Police Headquarters to undergo a legal process and be charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning beatings with a penalty of seven to nine years in prison.
