Lewis Capaldi Says Female Pop Singers Have Higher Standards
JAKARTA - The singer and songwriter from Scotland, Lewis Capaldi, spoke about the higher standards brought by female pop singers in the music performance industry.
Lewis's thoughts were conveyed when he was a guest on the Creativo podcast, where the 28-year-old soloist discussed the differences in expectations given to women and men.
According to her, female popstars are currently in a very good position, as evidenced by names such as Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Rosan, and Olivia Rodrigo who dominated big music festivals this summer.
"I think pop is really pioneered by women. I think women are really successful in pop and creating the most interesting music today," Capaldi said.
"The women seem to appear on stage and give everything, and everything is thought carefully," he added. Many men appear on stage, including me, wearing only T-shirts and jeans, then singing."
But he added that, apart from himself, male pop singers such as Harry Styles, Benson totaling, and Conan Gray emphasize the theatrical side more.
