Nicolas Jackson Joins Bayern Munich With A Profitable Loan Agreement

JAKARTA - Nicolas Jackson has joined Bayern Munich from Chelsea on a one-season loan with the obligation to make it permanent in the 2026 season.

The Bundesliga club announced at the arrival of the attacker on Monday, September 1, 2025, local time.

The financial deal for this move was not disclosed, but Chelsea received an offer of 81.5 million euros (approximately IDR 1.5 trillion). Jackson will wear the number 11 jersey at Die Bayern.

"I'm very happy to be part of this great club now. Bayern Munich is one of the best clubs in the world."

"Everyone knows the names of legends who have played here and know that this club is ready to achieve the greatest success."

"I have big goals and dreams here. I will give everything to help Bayern Munich win more titles," said the player from Senegal after the deal was announced.

In a dramatic 48 hours, Jackson had lost hope of moving to the Bundesliga club. You see, Chelsea desperately needed an attacker when Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury in a 2-0 win over Fulham last weekend.

Jackson was even already in Munich when the deal appeared to fail. However, the Blues turned out to be continuing negotiations after they got a solution.

Finally, Jackson underwent a medical test and signed a contract on Monday, September 1, 2025, Germany's time, after Chelsea received a loan fee of 16.5 million euros (around Rp315 billion) with the obligation to make the 24-year-old a permanent player for 65 million euros (around Rp1.2 trillion) in the summer of 2026.

The deal was slightly better than Bayern Munich agreed on Saturday, August 30, 2025, the morning local time, hours before the deal was scrapped amid fears Delap would be out for at least two months.

Previously, it was known that Delap's injury had prompted Chelsea to cancel their agreement with Bayern Munich for Jackson - which consists of a loan of 15 million euros and a fixed fee of 65 million euros due next year - as they need a coating, with only Joao Pedro available as the only senior striker.

However, Jackson is reportedly reluctant to return to Stamford Bridge and urged his representatives to revive the move, which they managed to make on Monday.

Due to this scenario, Chelsea finally sent Marc Guiu home from his loan spell at Sunderland. Meanwhile, Tyrique George, who led the attack line after Delap limped off the pitch last weekend, has been allowed to join Fulham with a deal worth 25.4 million euros.

The agreement also contains a clause that gives Chelsea a percentage of each move in the future.

Guiu has just joined Sunderland on August 6, 2025, but will return amid a shortage of strikers at Chelsea.
