US Open 2025: Fritz Hunts First Victory Against Djokovic

JAKARTA The United States tennis player, Taylor Fritz, will try to hunt down his first win against Novak Djokovic when they meet in the quarter-finals of the US Open 2025.

The two names will play the quarter-finals of the season-ending Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows, New York, United States, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, morning WIB.

This is the 11th clash between the two names. In the previous 10 clashes, Fritz always lost and could only steal two sets from the former Serbian world number one.

"I think the way to turn things around is to become a better player," said Fritz, who was runner-up at the US Open last year, as reported by the tournament's official website.

Although he has never won, Fritz had a chance in sight in his two defeats last year, in a row in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and the semifinals of the Shanghai Masters.

While losing in Melbourne, the 27-year-old forced the tie-break in the first set and stole the second set. As for Shanghai, he forced Djokovic to a tie-break in the second set.

Fritz said that he would maximize the opportunity to meet at the US Open 2025. He believes his current level of play is much better to be able to stop Djokovic.

"I know that in the last matches we played, there were many opportunities. I just haven't been able to take advantage of these important moments," he said.

Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the US Open 2025 after winning over Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany. On the other hand, Fritz got a ticket thanks to a win over Czech Republic, Tomas Machac.
