Alexander Isak Completes Transfer To Liverpool, Premier League Transfer Record Created
JAKARTA - Liverpool have completed the signing of striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United with a Premier League transfer record.
The 2024/2025 Premier League champions have received an offer of 125 million pounds (around Rp. 2.7 trillion) for the Swedish National Team (Timnas) player on Monday, September 1, 2025, early in the morning local time.
The attacker has also signed a six-year contract at Anfield. He will wear the number 9.
"It's a long journey to get here. However, I'm very happy to be part of this team, this club, and everything he's fighting for."

"Ini adalah sesuatu yang saya banggakan dan saya sangat menantikannya. Saya senang semuanya sudah selesai dan saya bisa kembali bekerja."
"I can't wait to meet my teammates, supporters, and get back in action," Isak said in a statement.
This ends one of the longest transfer beds of the summer. Isak spent more than a month fighting for his move from Newcastle United.
He hasn't appeared for Eddie Howe's side this season since being marginalized during Newcastle United's pre-season tour.
This is because Isak released a sensational statement last month in which he emphasized that promises had been broken by The Magpies officials and insisted that this summer's move would be in the best interests of all parties.
The 25-year-old is the most expensive player in Premier League history, surpassing Moises Caicedo who joined Chelsea for 115 million pounds from Brighton in the summer of 2023.
"I think I have a lot to give. I think I have a lot to improve on."
"I'm a striker, but I've always wanted to give the best for the team, especially goals, but more than that too. I want to win everything," said Isak.
This marks the second time this summer Liverpool broke a record transfer. Previously, Arne Slot's team had committed to spending an initial 100 million pounds -- plus an additional 16 million pounds -- to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in June 2025.
The latest deal also saw Liverpool's summer spending of more than 400 million pounds (approximately IDR 8.8 trillion) despite the departure of some of the first-team players - including Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez - helping to offset significant club financial expenses.
