MBG Program In Lebong Temporarily Stopped After 467 Residents Experience Health Complaints
JAKARTA The alleged poisoning from Free Nutrition Food (MBG) has occurred again. This time, as many as 467 beneficiaries in Lebong Regency, Bengkulu, complained about health after consuming the menu on August 27, 2025.
For this incident, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) temporarily suspended the program's services at the Lebong Sakti Lemeu Pit Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), until the results of the investigation into the cause of the incident were confirmed.
Head of the BGN Legal and Public Relations Bureau, Khairul Hidayati, said that the condition of the beneficiaries who had previously been treated at the hospital had now improved and all of them were discharged on August 31.
"Recipients of affected benefits who were previously hospitalized have improved and have all been sent home on Sunday, August 31 yesterday. Furthermore, we are jointly waiting for the results of testing the MBG sample from BPOM," he said in a written statement, Monday, September 1.
Hida added that for the results of the interim investigation, his party recommended a number of operational improvements at the Lebong SPPG Sakti Lemeu Pit, including increasing coordination with local governments and strengthening cooperation with foundations related to the procurement of raw materials to the distribution of MBG.
Through this incident, BGN emphasized that it will tighten supervision and evaluation of MBG programs in all regions, enforce implementation guidelines, and ensure food safety in each distribution chain.

Meanwhile, the Regional Head of the Bengkulu Province SPPG, Gloria, apologized deeply for the occurrence of Extraordinary Events (KLB) in the implementation of the MBG Program.
"On behalf of the National Nutrition Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, we apologize profusely for the occurrence of the KLB in the MBG Program in Lebong Regency. We understand the concerns of the beneficiaries, especially children, parents, and the affected communities," said Gloria.
Gloria emphasized that BGN is committed to strengthening food supervision, quality and safety. "We are aware that this incident caused concerns and losses to the community. For that, once again we apologize and will make improvements so that similar incidents do not happen again," he said.
