The Citizens, according to ESPN reports, will delay the completion of Donnarumma's transfer until Ederson officially becomes a Fenerbahce player.
Ederson has been given permission to speak with the Turkish club and hopes that the transfer will take place.
The 32-year-old is also the target of Galatasaray and clubs in the Saudi Arabian Pro League during the transfer market.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has chosen to play James Trafford rather than Ederson as a starter in three Premier League games so far this season.
Trafford rejoined the club from Burnley earlier this summer for a transfer fee of around 27 million.
Despite Donnarumma's transfer, Manchester City tried to restore Stefan Ortega's performance. The German, who was a substitute for Ederson last season, was not included in the squad during the 1-2 defeat to Brighton on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
