The National Police Chief Confirms That He Will Arrest The Perpetrators Of Riots
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that he would arrest the perpetrators of the riots and process them according to legal regulations.
It is known that riots occurred in various parts of Indonesia. The crowd damaged public facilities to the police station.
"We will arrest the perpetrators of the rioters and process them after the applicable legal regulations," said Sigit at the East Jakarta Police Hospital, Monday, September 1.
The decisive action taken by the National Police is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's order to request that the National Police and the TNI cooperate to restore Indonesia's conduciveness.
That way, community activities will return to normal. This will also have an impact on increasing or economic growth.
"His order is to immediately restore security, restore the existing situation so that people can carry out their activities, the economy can grow again," said Sigit.
The National Police is known to have arrested 3,195 people related to the riots that occurred in the period 25 to 31 August 2025.
Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, confirmed this matter. Thousands of people were arrested in 15 Polda.
"That's right, based on data from the regional police," said Trunoyudo.
Based on the data, of the thousands of people, 387 of them have been sent home. Meanwhile, 2,753 are still in the process of being investigated.
In addition, 55 people have been named as suspects in the riots. However, it has not been explained about the crime they committed.
