Arguing About Debt, A Villa Occupied By A Spanish Citizen Burned By An Unknown Person

BADUNG - An unknown person tried to burn a villa inhabited by a foreign national (WNA) from Spain with the initials GASV (59).

In the CCTV footage, it can be seen that someone started a fire and tried to burn the villa located in Gang Rambutan Number 6, in Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

PS Kasubsipenmas Sihumas Badung Police Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti said the incident occurred on Thursday (21/8) night. The incident was reported to the police on the day.

"The perpetrator is still under investigation and has not yet been (arrested)," said Aiptu Ayu.

It is known that this Spanish citizen initially gave a loan money to a woman with the initials L, who is suspected to be an Indonesian citizen (WNI) of Rp. 2 million.

Then when he was billed, L refused to return it by transfer and chose to hand it over directly. On Thursday (21/8) at around 22.30 WITA, L came to the victim's villa and there was a dispute until the victim kicked him out.

"After leaving, the victim noticed from CCTV footage that the roof of the garage was on fire. The complainant (victim) immediately left the house and extinguished the fire with water from the garage tap," he added.

"The reported (perpetrator) is under investigation. There have been allegations of arson as referred to in Article 187 of the Criminal Code and the case is under investigation by the Badung Police Criminal Investigation Unit," he said.
