Captain And 5 Crew Members Survive Ship Accident On Kelor Island, Jakarta, Evacuation Wait For Unloaded

The joint SAR team evacuated the Bintang Muara Sejati 20 Motor Ship (KM) which sank in the waters of Kelor Island, Untung Jawa Village, South Seribu Islands District on Monday, September 1.

"The shipwreck ship, which was headed by Amin Mubarok with five crew members (ABK), occurred at around 8.00 WIB," said Head of Sector VIII Task Force of the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) and the Thousand Islands of Muhamad Isro in Jakarta, Monday, in the district of Antara.

According to him, the ship departed from Pasir Kalibaru Base, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, at 05.00 WIB. The ship was carrying 66 Tetrapods or triangular triangular weekends to Kelor Island.

After leaving for more than two hours, he continued, the crew realized that the back of the ship was leaking, then the water was pumped out of the ship, but this effort was unsuccessful.

Before the ship sank, he said, the captain and crew had tried to save themselves in a small boat to Kelor Island.

"There were no casualties or injuries in the incident," said Isro.

Furthermore, he explained that the evacuation process involved 10 joint personnel consisting of village officials, Sector VIII North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. and Thousand Islands, Bintara for Maritime Potential Development (Babinpotmar), Bhayangkara for Community Security and Order Development (Babinkamtibmas), Police, Community Early Alert Forum (FKDM), and Puskesmas Pulau Untung Jawa Village.

Until this news was revealed, the ship was still in the middle of the sea, waiting for the cargo to be unloaded, and after that the officers evacuated the ship to the mainland.

Meanwhile, the Head of Untung Island, Sidartawan, revealed that the entire crew of the ship had been checked for health by health personnel at the puskesmas.

"All the crew survived and I checked directly the condition of the ship, it has sunk half," said Sidartawan.
