DPRD And South Sumatra Police Headquarters Become Targets For Demonstration In Palembang, 1,836 Police Alerted
A total of 1,836 police officers were alerted to secure a demonstration in Palembang City, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Monday, September 1.
Palembang Police Chief Kombes Pol Harryo Sugihhartono said there were four groups of students who would hold demonstrations, namely Cipayung Plus, South Sumatra BEM, UIN Dema RF Palembang, and the South Sumatra Student Alliance.
The four will be divided into 3 sessions from 08.00 WIB to the last session at 13.00 WIB. The action will be carried out at 2 points, namely the Simpang 5 of the South Sumatra DPRD and the South Sumatra Police Headquarters.
His party deployed 1,836 personnel to guard and secure, also anticipating intruders in the action.
The Palembang Police Chief also appealed to students to use their group identities to avoid entering intruders.
"We hope that future colleagues can use an identity. Thus, the submission of opinions remains guarded without any irresponsible intruders," he said in Palembang, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

He hopes that students can express their opinion as well as possible. It is hoped that the peaceful action will not end in chaos as happened in other cities.
