Chelsea Vs Fulham: 2-0, Controversy VAR Colors West London Derby
JAKARTA Chelsea finally won their first home win of the season after beating Fulham 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, Saturday, August 30 local time. However, this victory was full of controversy due to VAR's decision which was considered detrimental to the visitors.
The hot game of the West London derby has been strained since the early minutes when Josh King, Fulham's 18-year-old teenager, had scored the opener with a fine finish. Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed after VAR found Rodrigo Muniz's foul on Trevoh Chalobah in the build-up process.
The decision made Fulham manager Marco Silva furious. Disappointment grew even more when Chelsea were awarded a penalty in the second half. VAR Michael Salisbury thinks Ryan Sessegnon did a handball while blocking the cross.

Chelsea captain Enzo Fern Marijuz executed perfectly to put the Blues 2-0 up. Whereas previously the ball had hit Joao Pedro's hand in the attack process, but was not considered a violation.
VAR really damaged the game, said Silva, who looked angry after the match.
In addition to Enzo Fern Marijuz's penalty, Chelsea also got a goal from their new signing, Joao Pedro. The Brazilian striker scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge with a header taking advantage of Fern Marijudez's corner, just in time for first-half injury time.
The goal was born almost a minute more than the additional time the referee announced, leaving Fulham's camp frustrated again.
This victory did not come at a price. The young striker Liam Delap, who was brought in for 30 million pounds from Ipswich this summer, had to be withdrawn in the 14th minute due to a hamstring injury.
Chelsea are now getting more and more difficult up front, especially since Nicolas Jackson has just been loaned out to Bayern Munich, while young winger Tyrique George who came in to replace Delap also had to be pulled out at the end of the game due to physical problems.
Despite appearing inconclusive, this victory was enough to bring Chelsea to the top of the Premier League standings, at least until other matches were played.
However, the performance of Enzo Maresca's team is still far from the title of the winning candidate. In addition to injury problems, the main focus is of course on the large role of VAR which regulates the course of the match.
Today's VAR really killed the spirit of the game, commented one fan on social media.
