Impact Of Windows Blackout, CrowdStrice Revenue Still Weak In Q3 This Year

JAKARTA CrowdStrice, a cybersecurity company that had created major disruptions in Windows, projects low revenue in the third quarter of this year.

This low quarterly revenue is still related to problems that occurred last year. The company still has to provide a number of incentives to customers as a form of compensation payment.

According to Reuters, CrowdStrice acknowledged that the incentive program would have an impact on the company's revenue. They estimate revenue losses of between 10 million US dollars (IDR 163.6 billion) to 15 million US dollars (IDR 245.4 billion).

The loss is believed to continue until the end of fiscal year. This less promising prospect also has an impact on the company's shares. CrowdStrike shares are known to have fallen by almost 3 percent in post-market trading.

The head of the CrowdStrike Financeshird Podbere stated that the company still had to make cash payments of around US$51 million (Rp834 billion) in the third quarter. This payment also relates to last year's blackout.

In July, CrowdStrike had paralyzed the activities of a number of companies, including airlines such as Delta. This happened because of the failure of the software test the company carried out.

As a result, about 8.5 million Windows-based computer devices do not work and only display the Blue Screen Of Death screen. Losses due to this failure are estimated at more than IDR 88 trillion.

Despite the loss, CrowdStrike estimates that profit per share is higher than expectations. The adjusted profit per share projection is between 93 cents to 95 cents, exceeding analyst estimates of 91 cents.
