PHE ONWJ's New Well Production 2,635 Barel Oil Per Day
JAKARTA - Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) reported that after drilling the LLE-5ST well in Field Lima, it is located in the offshore area of Karawang Regency, capable of producing up to 2,635 barrels per day (BOPD) in the first production test.
PHE ONWJ General Manager Muzwir Wiratama said the main target of drilling is the LL-30 rock layer consisting of rock pass from Main Formation and is oil development in the southern area of Field Lima.
"This development is a follow-up to a seismic data reprocessing study with the Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) technique," he said, Thursday, August 28.
The results show that this layer is proven to contain significant amounts of oil. This success opens up great potential for further development in the southern region of Field Lima.
Drilling of the LLE-5ST well is the result of a re-brank (sidetrack) from an old well (LE-5) that has been inactive since 2012 with a direct drilling technique to reach a potential underground rock layer to produce oil, although its location is in an area that has not been widely exploited before.
"The thickening is made convex like the letter "J", which allows it to reach an underground reservoir far from the starting point of the drilling," he explained.
PHE ONWJ also recorded another success in this production test. One of them, the drilling process which took 37 days, much shorter than the 46.2 day target. In addition, this project was successfully executed faster than the initial plan in 2026.
Muzwir Wiratama said PHE ONWJ will continue to monitor the production of this well and carry out technical optimization such as adjusting the amount of gas put into the well (lift gas) and the size of the flow control crop (choke). The goal is that oil production continues to increase stably, optimally and efficiently.

Wira also emphasized PHE ONWJ's commitment to continue to increase production while maintaining safety, security, speed, and quality of operation.
"God willing, oil production from the ONWJ field will continue to grow," he continued.
With the successful drilling of the LLE-5ST well, PHE ONWJ has not only succeeded in increasing the potential reserves from Field Lima, but has also confirmed the Company's success in pursuing higher production goals, with more innovative techniques and faster executions.
This success shows a step forward in ONWJ's efforts to support increasing national oil production. Alhamdulillah, we managed to achieve the production target. This achievement is the result of solid collaboration and teamwork internally, support from our partners and of course the support of the leadership and function of related functions in SKK Migas," he said.
