Pramono Asks Schools In Jakarta To Be Strictly Monitored, Don't Let Students Participate In The August 28 Demo
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the DKI Jakarta Education Office (Disdik) had asked schools in Jakarta to closely monitor the whereabouts of its students.
Schools in Jakarta, Pramono asked, to make efforts so that his students do not participate in the August 28 demonstration in front of the DPR RI building today.
"I have asked Mrs. Nahdiana (Head of Disdik DKI) to communicate with all schools in Jakarta with school principals and for some of course ask schools to provide strict supervision not to participate in the demonstrations that have occurred in recent days," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 28.
The instructions to the principal in Jakarta, especially those located around the demonstration area, were carried out by reflecting on the action last August 25.
Where, the action that led to clashes between the masses and the authorities last Monday involved many students and some schools did not anticipate it first.
"I know that there are some schools that don't think that later this was done by school children in Jakarta," said Pramono.
"Even though the demonstration is actually part of democracy. Of course I don't want (students) to enter the demonstration area," he continued.
However, Pramono admitted that he had not yet discussed the imposition of sanctions on students who were still determined to participate in today's demonstrations. He handed over the handling to the DKI Disdik.
