No Members Of The Standing Council In The DPR During The Labor Action, Said Iqbal Threatened To Hold A Bigger Action
JAKARTA - The President of KSPI and the President of the Labor Party, Said Iqbal, threatened to hold an even bigger action because today no one member of the council accepted the aspirations of the masses.
Hundreds of workers consisting of KSPI and other labor unions brought six demands, one of which was about the issue of labor wages and termination of employment (PHK).
"The Labor Party together with the Workers' Union Coalition consisting of 74 elements of the Workers' Union Movement and the People's Movement and also including KSPI. We want to convey several things after the recent several hours of action in front of the DPR RI. First, there is not a single people's representative from the DPR who is willing to accept a delegation from the Workers' Union Labor Party including KSPI," Said Iqbal said in front of the DPR Building, Thursday, August 28.
Iqbal admitted that his party would not mind if there were no representatives of the DPR who accepted workers, because today's action was an act of aspiration and simultaneous in several provinces.
"The number is tens of thousands. Yes, throughout Indonesia yes, tens of thousands. Yes, because this is an initial action we can accept," said Said.
"But with a message to the leaders of the DPR, chairman, deputy chairman of the DPR RI and commissions of all members of the DPR RI. Listen to the aspirations of the people.
"Listen to what the people want to say," he continued.
Said reminded that the DPR must be clean and strong as President Prabowo Subianto, who has always repeatedly made speeches on the eradication of corruption.
Said also emphasized that the labor union will hold further and simultaneous actions throughout Indonesia. However, he has not specified when the action will take place.
"This action will be continued even bigger. Simultaneously throughout Indonesia. We even designed a national strike, stopped production and flocked hundreds of thousands from Jabodetabek to Buruh to enter Jakarta," said Said Iqbal.
