Police Name 14 Suspects In The Case Of Elementary School Children Drowning At Wahana Recreation Banjarbaru
BANJARBARU - Liang Anggang Police, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) named 14 suspects in the case of elementary school age (SD) children drowning in one of the recreational rides.
The Liang Anggang Police have named 14 suspects, a combination of the board of teachers and management of recreational rides.
"We have named 14 suspects from the teacher council as many as eight people and one school principal while from the manager there are four employees and one person from the management," said Liang Anggang Police Chief Kompol Imam Suryana as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 27.
Imam said that one suspect was subject to Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding negligence that caused death, while the other suspect was subject to Article 55 of the Criminal Code concerning Participation.
The police chief confirmed that 14 suspects would be summoned to the Liang Anggang Police to undergo an examination of the case.

He hopes that the suspects will cooperate when summoned by the police, and will not repeat their crimes or destroy evidence.
"If we are cooperative, we will not make arrests. But if we are not cooperative, based on the investigator's statement, we can make arrests," he said.
Kompol Imam said investigators believed there was an element of negligence in this case based on the results of the investigation, summoning witnesses and asking for testimony from criminal expert witnesses to the demolition of the victim's grave.
In addition to the information obtained, the evidence that was secured by the police began with a statement signed by parents, a ticket to the recreation vehicle, victim's clothes and surveillance camera footage that recorded the child's sinking incident.
"There is a medical record letter from RSD Idaman Banjarbaru and as soon as possible we will summon the suspects," explained Imam.
