The Corruption Case Of The DJKA Project Of The Ministry Of Transportation, The Former PPK Of The Railway Engineering Center Was Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - Former Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center, Dheky Martin, a defendant in a corruption case in a project at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation, was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

The verdict read by Chief Justice Kukuh Kalinggo Yuwono at the trial at the Semarang Corruption Court, Wednesday, was lighter than the prosecutor's demand for a sentence of 7 years and 8 months.

In addition to the corporal punishment, the defendant was also sentenced to a fine of Rp250 million which if not paid would be replaced with imprisonment for 5 months.

"To declare that the defendant is proven to have violated Article 12 letter b and Article 12 B of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption," he said.

The defendant Dekhy Martin was proven to have accepted bribes and gratuities totaling Rp. 14.1 billion.

The judge explained that the defendant Dekhy Martin was a PPK for the Yogyakarta Airport railroad project (KA), the Solo Airport Train signal, and three projects to improve the Solo Balapan to Kalioso train lines in Solo City, namely JGSS 1.3, and 4.

The defendant Dheky Martin was proven to have received an operational fee related to the auction of a number of DJKA projects from 2020 to 2022.

"The defendant leaked data on RAB, HPS, as well as special requirements for contractors who have been plotted to work on the projects he handles," said the presiding judge.

The defendant's actions were deemed not to support the government's program in eradicating corruption.

However, the defendant has explained what he did, other people, and the criminal acts that occurred.

The judge in his decision also imposed an additional sentence in the form of payment of compensation for state losses of Rp. 14.1 billion which if not paid would be replaced with imprisonment for three years.

Regarding this decision, the judge gave the defendant and the public prosecutor the opportunity to think about it.
