Medan City Government No Longer Applies Bobby Nasution's Subscription Parking System
MEDAN - Medan City Government, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) stated that the application of a roadside parking system that uses a barcode sticker is no longer enforced in the area.
"It's true, the parking barcode sticker system is no longer valid," said Head of the Medan City Transportation Service, Erwin Saleh, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 27.
However, he explained that the parking system was not completely abolished considering that there were still a number of subscription parking stickers that had not expired.
Erwin Saleh explained that the parking system for subscribing to roadsides that use barcode stickers has been implemented in 2024.
"The sale of the barcode parking sticker was carried out massively in July until the end of 2024. In early 2025 the subscription parking sticker was still on sale, but indeed very few had purchased it in early 2025. This means that those who buy parking stickers in early 2025, can still use this subscription parking program until the beginning of 2026 or a full year of the purchase of stickers," he said.
Even so, he emphasized that the local city government no longer provides subscription stickers and will conduct studies on the replacement for the system.
"So our officers in the field are making arrangements. For those whose parking stickers have expired, then the sticker will be removed by our officers in the field. For those whose stickers are still active in their validity period, they will still be served properly," he said.
