This test was carried out at the Automotive Testing Testing Facility in Germany. This achievement marks a major leap for Yangwang U9, which previously set China's automotive speed record last November with 391.94 km/hour. This latest record shows an increase in speed of 20.53 percent, amplifying its position as China's fastest EV.

Previously at the same testing facility in July 2024, the fastest electric car speed in the world was held by Aspark Owl SP600, a Japanese-produced electric hypercar that reached a peak speed of up to 438.7 km/hour. This speed is recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's fastest battery electric car.

Aspark Owl SP600 is equipped with four electric motors with a total output of 2,012 hp and a torque of 1,475 lb-ft, supported by a 64 kWh battery, and a light carbon fiber chassis. The production is limited to only 50 units, with a price of around US$2.9 million (around Rp47 billion).

Previously, this record was also held by Rimac Nevera at a speed of 415 km/h in 2022.
