J&T Express Sends 5 Million Packages Per Day In Ramadan This Year

JAKARTA - Delivery service company J&T Express recorded the delivery of five million packages per day during Ramadan 1442 Hijri, skyrocketing up to 60 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.

J&T Express CEO Robin Lo said the holy month of Ramadan is one of the peak momentum of trade transactions amid pandemics and activity restrictions.

"Even in the midst of the pandemic, people's purchasing power remains high and there is a surge in ramadan, especially people today still limit themselves to out-of-home activities so that people choose online transactions and there is an increase in shipments. Ahead of Eid al-Fitr this year a significant increase reached 60 percent," he said in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 11.

Robin said it had anticipated a surge in shipments with various preparations a few months earlier such as the addition of human resources, vehicle fleets, and equipment.

Not only that, the use of automatic sorting machines, regulated agent facilities and air freighters are also maximized to ensure service level agreement to customers. Expansion and addition of sorting warehouse capacity in some areas is also carried out according to the needs.

J&T Express is also committed to continuously implementing 3M health protocols, disinfecting packages to be delivered and operational areas to maximize the protection and comfort of employees and customers.

In addition to preparation in the field that becomes an obligation, entering the beginning of Ramadan logistics companies that focus on supporting online businesses have presented a new service with premium facilities as a delivery option that can be used, namely J&T Super which has innovation speed in delivery.

"This J&T Super service is only launched in early April and during Ramadan we provide discounts of up to 40 percent," concluded Robin.
