The Official Museum Supervisory Board Is Appointed, The Ministry Of Culture Emphasizes The Importance Of Managing Cultural Assets

JAKARTA Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon has officially appointed the Supervisory Board of Museums and Cultural Conservation (MCB) through the Decree of the Minister of Culture Number 165/P/2025. The decree was submitted to the National Museum of Indonesia, Jakarta, Monday, August 25.

Menbud Fadli emphasized that the formation of this council is an important step to strengthen the management of cultural assets while maintaining the identity of the nation. Museum and cultural heritage must be managed professionally in order to provide great benefits, not only for preservation, but also as a source of income," he said.

MCB saat ini mengelola 34 situs warga budaya, sebagian sudah bekerja sama dengan InJourney dan Taman Wisata Candi (TWC). Menbud Fadli, kerja sama serupa akan diperluas, termasuk ke kawasan Muarajambi, Dieng, dan Gedongsongo. Targetnya, site dan museum tidak sekadarnya dikunjungi, tetapi mampu menghasilkan income berkelanjutan.

The names that are trusted to sit as the MCB BLU Supervisory Board are Muhammad Asrian Mirza (Chairman), with members Sitie Indrawati Djojohadikusumo, Linda Djuwita Djalil, Tamalia Alisjahbana, and Thomas AM Djiwandono.

Menbud Fadli also highlighted museums that need to be revived, such as the Proclamation Script Formation Museum, Youth Pledge Museum, and the National Awakening Museum. He mentioned the importance of creating a cluster of historical museums to make it more attractive to the public.

In addition to submitting the decree, the Minister of Education and Culture emphasized that the duties of the Supervisory Board include monitoring the performance of BLU, giving directions, and evaluating the implementation of MCB's strategic policies. Their term of office is valid from July 7, 2025 to January 3, 2027.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture Bambang Wibawarta, Director General of Cultural Protection and Culture Restu Gunawan, Head of MCB Abi Kusno, and Executive Director of the MCB Business Management Agency Indira Estiyanti Nurjadin.

With the appointment of this Supervisory Board, the Ministry of Culture affirms its commitment to strengthening museum governance and historical sites. Not just preserving legacy, but making it a life asset that is able to support the national cultural economy.
