President Zelensky Discusses Pressure On Russia With US Special Envoys

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday he and US Special Envoy for Ukraine-Russia Keith Kellogg held a meeting discussing efforts to pressure Russia to hold "real negotiations" to end the war that has lasted more than three years.

"Good meeting with US Presidential Special Envoy Keith Kelogg," President Zelensky wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

"We discussed how to influence Russia, requiring them to hold real negotiations to end the war. We are ready to negotiate in an agreed format with the leaders. This is necessary to resolve key issues," he continued.

President Zelensky said Ukraine appreciates "the United States' readiness to become part of Ukraine's security architecture" and views security cooperation as important, especially regarding the purchase of weapons, development, and sale of drones.

"Ukraine is very grateful to the United States for its support, and we appreciate President Trump's great commitment to achieving true peace," he wrote in a separate post on X.

"It is imperative to implement all results - politics, defense, and the economy - which were achieved during our meeting with European leaders in Washington", he said.
