Independent And Honest, Lilli QueenB Introduces 2006 Debut EP

JAKARTA - Lil Li Latisha, also known as Lilli QueenB, introduced an extended play (EP) or debut mini album titled 2006.

This EP contains three songs as well as one remix version that Lilli wrote for three years since she was 15 years old which is inspired by her experience of facing impurity, anxiety, and mental health challenges.

For Lilli, 2006 is a kind of time caption a collection of stories that can be friends for teenagers or other Gen Z when they want to heal childhood wounds or just feel seen in difficult times.

"All the songs I wrote came from the heart and were also released to help those of you who are going through an identity crisis phase or feel alone in dealing with your mental health," said Lilli QueenB in a statement, Monday, August 25.

The special track in this EP is 'Flawed REMIX' taken from its first single in 2021' which was carried out in collaboration with Wessel Doornhein, music producer and disjoki from the Netherlands.

The original version 'Flawed' written in 20220 tells the story of an invisible, invisible, and lonely feeling during quarantine while touching issues such as body security, anxiety, and difficulty accepting self-change.

Flawed REMIX still brings the meaning of the original song, but with an electronic touch and dance rhythm that gives a sense of nostalgia as well as new energy. The goal is that listeners not only feel sad, but can also release burdens, dance, and feel free.

EP 2006 and the entire track in it is done independently. The main capital is the love of music, without more knowledge in the field of production.

"This EP is the result of my hard work and savings since I was 15 years old," said Lilli.

"I learned how to write my own songs and I've had my career as a musician really with zero knowledge about how music production, how to release songs, and also how to promote," he added.

As an independent musician, Lilli does not deny how difficult and expensive it is to produce EP optimally. He admitted that he had to set aside his income as a content creator.

"Because I'm independent, it means that every time I get paid from endorsements or side lawstle, I enter it for recordings in studios, music producers, mixing and mastering, and so on," he said. Because honestly if you don't know music production and also you don't have the right equity, the cost will be very expensive. At least for me.

But in addition, EP 2006 is also a new marker of Lilli QueenB's musical journey. Not only marking the end of youth, but also the beginning of something completely new.

Lilli has just been received at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), United States. Over the next four years, she will be studying the BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) with full scholarships.

"This is a super special EP for me, because it ended my life chapter before I entered a new chapter in college," he said.
