IPhone 17 Pro May Come With The Overturned Wireless Charging Feature
JAKARTA A rumor that has long been circulating has re-emerged, mentioning that Apple may introduce a reverse charging feature on the iPhone 17 Pro. The inverse charging feature allows one device to charge another device using its charging system.
According to a post on Weibo by a leaker called "Fixed Focus Digital" on Monday, August 25, Apple is reported to have tested this feature on the iPhone 17 Pro. The leaker calls this feature "handled" and "reliable," although there are no specific details as to whether this feature is wired-based or uses wireless charging.
However, the reliability of these rumors is questionable because "Fixed Focus Digital" does not have a strong reputation in terms of accuracy. In addition, leakers on Weibo often only repeat rumors that have been circulating elsewhere, thus making this information less trustworthy.

Rumors about this inverse charging are nothing new. In February 2025, another leaker on Weibo also claimed that the iPhone 17 Pro will have this feature. Although it is not explicitly stated whether this feature is wireless charging-based, the leaker compares it to similar features on Samsung devices. It is also mentioned that this Apple feature is capable of transmitting power up to 7.5W, equivalent to Qi's standards, but still below the MagSafe capacity.
This rumor has even emerged since six years ago. On the iPhone 11 Pro Max, a device demolition indicates a bilaterally disabled wireless charging feature. After that, this feature is again mentioned on the iPhone 12 through FCC documents in 2020, the iPhone 13 in 2021, and the iPhone 14 Pro in 2023.
Although this rumor continues, there has been no official confirmation from Apple regarding the presence of the inverse charging feature on the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple fans are now looking forward to whether this feature will actually become a reality at the upcoming launch.
