Mayor Of Bandung Deactivates Head Of Youth And Sports Suspect For Corruption In Scout Grant Funds

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan has officially suspended the Head of the Bandung City Youth and Sports Service (Kadispora) Eddy Marwoto after being named a suspect in the corruption case of Scout grant funds by the West Java Prosecutor's Office.

The position of Kadispora is now definitively filled by the Secretary of Dispora, Sigit Iskandar who was inaugurated along with 89 other officials at Plaza Balai City of Bandung.

"His employment status (Eddy Marwoto) has been temporarily suspended. I have signed since the determination of the suspect," said Farhan after the inauguration, reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 25.

Farhan said that Eddy Marwoto's temporary suspension had received the approval of the Governor of West Java and the Ministry of Home Affairs, as well as an official letter from BKN before August 20, 2025.

"So it will be temporarily dismissed. If it turns out that there will be something in court, we don't know the final result yet," he said.

Eddy Marwoto was named a suspect on June 13, 2025, regarding the alleged misuse of Kwarcab grants for the Bandung City Scout Movement for the 2017, 2018, and 2020 fiscal years worth IDR 6.5 billion.

Apart from Eddy, three other names were also suspects, namely the former Head of Bandung City Dispora Dodi Ridwansyah (DR), former Bandung City Secretary Yossi Irianto (YI), and former Bandung Scout Kwarcab Daily Chair Deni Nurhadiana Hadimin (DNH).

The four of them are now being held at the Kebon Waru Detention Center in Bandung. They are suspected of using grant funds that are not in accordance with their designation, including for the fictitious honorarium of the Scout management, as well as making false accountability reports.

As a result, the state is estimated to have suffered losses of up to 20 percent of the total disbursed grant funds.
