Arya Sinulingga: Hopefully Mauro Zijlstra-Miliano Jonathans Take The Oath As Soon As Possible
JAKARTA - PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member Arya Sinulingga said the naturalization process for Mauro Zijlstra and Miliano Jonathans will soon be completed. The two players of Dutch descent are expected to take the oath of Indonesian citizens (WNI) soon.
"If it's on schedule, hopefully as soon as possible," Arya said when met at the photo exhibition and 90' & Beyond at Sarinah Mall, Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, August 24.
Arya explained that Zijlstra and Miliano's naturalization documents are now in the DPR and may be processed at the beginning of next week.
"Now the position is in the DPR. The President has sent a letter. Hopefully in the next one or two days, DPR friends will receive the letter and process it," he said.
Zijlstra, a 20-year-old FC Volendam player, certainly could not strengthen the Indonesian U-23 national team in the 2026 U-23 Asian Cup Qualification at Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium, early September.
"I don't think Mauro for the U-23 can't, because registration has closed H-10," said Arya.
That way, Zijlstra and Miliano's chances are to strengthen the senior national team for the FIFA Match Day match against Kuwait (September 5) and Lebanon (September 9) at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
"Actually, Mauro was processed first, but we made it together to make it more efficient," said Arya.
