Minister Of Public Works Visits People's Schools In Sumedang: Careless, While There Is A Good Opportunity From Pak Prabowo

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo visited the Integrated 4 People's School (SR) in Sumedang Regency, West Java, today. Not alone, Dody was accompanied by his wife Irma Hanggodo.

Quoted from the video upload on the official Instagram account @kementerianpu, Saturday, August 23, Dody reviewed a number of facilities, such as classrooms, dormitories, IPA laboratories and computer laboratories.

In front of a number of students, Dody said, the construction of the People's School is a manifestation of the government's presence to improve the standard of life of the community.

"One of the easiest and quickest ways to improve the standard of life is to find as much knowledge as possible. Tell me, son, while there is a good opportunity from Pak Prabowo," said Dody in the video upload.

Not only that, Dody also encouraged all students who would attend the SR education. "Adiks are all school spirit because there is a People's School," he said.

The visit ended with giving gifts to talented students and the winners of the August 17 competition which were also held at the SR.

"This school is not just a place to study, but a second house that forms a character, builds a future and achieves hope. President Prabowo's real implementation of Astacita makes education the foundation for advanced Indonesia," he concluded.

To note, the Ministry of Public Works is accelerating the completion of the 1C Phase SR construction as part of the first phase of the program. This effort aims to ensure that educational facilities can be used at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year.

The SR program is part of the government's efforts to provide access to free and quality education for children from extreme poor and poor families, according to the direction of President Prabowo Subianto.

Minister Dody said the construction of the People's School was a tangible form of the government's commitment to building superior human resources.

"Collaborating with the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works wants to ensure that this educational facility is built quickly and with quality so that it can be immediately used in the 2025/2026 school year," said Dody in a written statement, Saturday, August 23.

He explained that phase 1 of the construction of the People's School is divided into three parts. Phase 1A as many as 63 locations have been operating since July 14, 2025, followed by Phase 1B with 37 locations starting functionally on July 31, 2025.

Meanwhile, Phase 1C covers 65 locations that are currently being accelerated. Thus, the total development in Phase 1 reached 165 People's Schools.

Of the 65 Phase 1C locations, 63 were built with the support of the State Budget and two other locations using the APBD. Overall, Phase 1C prepares 248 study groups with a capacity of 6,190 students, covering elementary, junior high to high school levels.
