Danantara Will Involve MSMEs As Suppliers Of SOE Hotel Needs

JAKARTA - Danantara Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dony Oskaria, ensured that in the future all state-owned hotels would involve MSMEs to supply the needs of amenities and service equipment.

Dony revealed, after the consolidation process for state-owned hotels is complete, all administrative needs, such as soap, shampoo, sandals, small towels, tea, coffee, and other room service complement products will be supplied by local MSMEs.

"So later on the hotels that we will carry out the consolidation process, maybe all the amenities will be supplied from our local ones, by MSMEs like that," said Dony when met at the Smesco building, Jakarta, Friday, August 22.

However, Dony emphasized that the products supplied must have quality that complies with the hotel industry standards.

Therefore, MSMEs will go through a process of curation, assistance, and education.

"Of course we will curate the MSMEs, we will educate them so that the products they produce are also products with good quality," he said.

According to Dony, this step is not only to provide MSMEs with wider market access, but also to encourage increased competitiveness.

He said, by entering the BUMN hotel ecosystem, MSMEs would have the opportunity to expand their business scale while increasing production standards.

On the other hand, Dony admits that there are still obstacles faced by MSMEs, especially regarding uneven production capacity.

Therefore, he said, Danantara will intervene in financing as a solution to increase its production capacity while maintaining quality.

"Well, that's why there was also financing intervention from us. That's why the direction from the President must be full cycle, so we can't partially do it, for example providing a market but not supported by financing," he said.

"But as well as if the financing exists, the market is not opened nor difficult for them, from everything, including coaching. So we will do this triangle for MSMEs," continued Dony.
