Ragunan Will Open At Night, PDIP: Don't Let The Animals Disappear

JAKARTA - Member of the PDI-P (PDIP) faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Yuke Yurike asked the DKI Provincial Government to pay attention to the safety and comfort aspects of the animals if they want to open the Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR) at night.

"We must prepare security and comfort and we must guard what is there. Don't let it be opened until night, the animals are gone again," Yuke told reporters, Friday, August 22.

The DKI Provincial Government, Called Yuke, has indeed conveyed the plan to open Ragunan at night. However, the DPRD has not received an explanation regarding the concept and operational mechanism of Ragunan at night.

"If possible, it will be opened until the evening, everything must be prepared. Sometimes people want to enjoy entertainment, the time is limited," said Yuke.

"So, as long as the infrastructure is ready and maintains conservation, because in Ragunan many animals and plants are quite rare, we must really take advantage of it if it is opened until the night," he added.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that the plan to open the Ragunan Wildlife Park could be visited at night. The DKI Provincial Government is still detailing the mechanism for Ragunan's operation at night.

"Of course not all animals can be found at night. For that, it will definitely be arranged," said Pramono at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, Tuesday, August 19.

Although it needs careful preparation, Pramono believes that the opening of Ragunan at night can be carried out. This is because many countries have applied it, such as Singapore, Korea, to Japan.

"If it is later opened, Ragunan will have an area of 127 hectares, compared to Singapore, which is only 28 hectares, then almost 5 times. Singapore can do it, it can also be opened at night," said Pramono.

If Ragunan's night tour is operated, Pramono believes that Jakarta residents no longer need to travel to zoos at long distances like Safari Park.

"The place is better than Safari. Even closer and people don't need to stick to the top. So, thus making choices for Jakarta residents to enjoy it more and more," said Pramono.
