Google Pixel 10 Series Users Can Now Share Locations And Send Messages Via Satellite

JAKARTA - Google and Skyo have expanded their cooperation to present satellite features in the Pixel 10 and Pixel Watch 4 series. Now, sharing locations, sending messages, and various other features via satellite are possible.

Just like the new Google Pixel 9 series, the new Google Pixel 10 smartphone series also supports satellite connectivity. Like the previous year, Google again partnered with Skyo to make this happen.

Google and Skyo have expanded their partnerships for Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold devices. Pixel Watch 4 is also included, as the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip that powers it supports sending emergency messages independently. Amazingly, you don't need a mobile phone or package to use it.

"This launch is not just a new feature. It redefines what satellite connectivity might do on everyday devices, including those in your pocket or wrist," said Parthasarathi Trivedi, CEO and co-founder of Skyo Technologies.

As a reminder, Skyo is recognized as the Best Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) provider in the industry at the MWC 2025 event at Barcelona. This award was actually achieved for the second time in a row.

Regarding Pixel Watch 4, this smart watch has just become the first device in the world to integrate NB-NTN satellite connectivity. NB-NTN support means this watch gains direct and independent access to the Skyo satellite network. This "gives users the ability to connect with emergency services and share their locations directly from the wrist, even without cell phones."

"By integrating the Skyo satellite service with our Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platform, we empower device manufacturers to present life-saving connectivity anywhere without requiring cell phones, BTS towers, or terrestrial signals," said John Kehrli, Senior Director, Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies.

Skyo's satellite capabilities across the Pixel product lineup include the following: Satellite SOS, Share Location via Satellite, and Satellite Messages. SOS Satellite means you get a direct connection to emergency services in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. For now, the feature on Pixel Watch 4 is limited in the US, but will soon be expanded.

Thanks to the Location Sharing feature via Satellite, you can send your live location from remote areas using Google Maps or Find Hub. Meanwhile, the Satellite Messages feature relies on cellular operators, but is already included in some of the mobile packages offered.
