Prepare Skills, Wide Open Jobs In Japan After P2MI Minister Visits Job Fair At Miyagi
JAKARTA - Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Minister (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding visited the first and largest job fair exchange organized by Miyagi Prefectural Government at Miyagi Exhibition Center, Japan, last Wednesday.
In this activity, Minister Karding said that this job fair was an effort to match demand with the needs of the labor market in Japan, especially Miyagi Prefecture.
"We hope that this joib fair will be a match between demand and needs. Last year in Indonesia a job fair was held and the results were very good and hopefully the results of this event were much better than last year," said Minister Karding, quoted from the Ministry of P2MI Press Release, Jakarta, Thursday, August 21.
Minister Karding revealed that the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) has collaborated with Miyagi Prefecture regarding the placement of skilled workers.
He emphasized that Indonesia's commitment to foster skilled workers is in accordance with the needs of the industry in the region.
"Today we can work together in terms of placement of skilled workers from Indonesia and the Governor and the entire kingdom. In principle, we will prepare skilled workers needed by Miyagi and God willing, it will not disappoint Miyagi society," said Minister Karding.
According to him, the Ministry of P2MI is working with the Miyagi Prefectural Government in terms of training and protection of Indonesian migrant workers working in Japan, especially in Miyagi Prefecture. Minister Karding assessed that this collaboration would be further improved so that skilled Indonesian migrant workers could meet Japan's job market standards.
"We have worked together in terms of promotion, training, then placement and protection of Indonesian migrant workers here," said Minister Karding.
Job fair in Miyagi Prefecture is an important momentum for expanding the access of Indonesian migrant workers to strategic sectors in Japan, including manufacturing, hospitality to elderly nurses. The Ministry of P2MI emphasized that it will continue to oversee the quality and protection of Indonesian migrant workers in various Japanese prefectures.

In addition, the Ministry of P2MI also signed a memorandum of understanding or MoU regarding the cooperation of promotion, training and placement of Indonesian migrant workers in Miyagi Prefecture between the Director General of Promotion and Utilization of Foreign Job Opportunities (P3KLN) Dwi Setiawan and the Governor of Miyagi Prefecture Yoshihiro Murai.
