Her Kids Support, Kirsten Dunst Interested in Joining Minecraft Sequel

JAKARTA - Kirsten Dunst expressed her interest in joining the sequel to the Minecraft movie if it ever materializes. She is known for collaborating with many directors on various projects, but this time her reasons are different.

In an interview with Town & Country, Dunst said, "Her kids really liked the first movie, and she wants to make a profit."

Kirsten Dunst added, "Maybe I could make a movie where I don't lose money?"

The Minecraft Movie, starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa, dominated theaters, grossing US$955 million. It became the third-highest-grossing film of 2025.

Although the public response was mixed, the film managed to become a cultural conversation piece, with numerous viral trends on social media.

Kirsten Dunst is known for her complex roles in independent and festival-focused films.

"Kirsten made a great choice. She's very genuine with her emotions. I love working with her, and she really understands me. I'm excited for her right now, and she's in the Gena Rowlands era, where she can play complex roles," said Sofia Coppola.

Kirsten Dunst isn't completely idle, as she's currently preparing for the film Reptilia with Mikey Madison, as well as a new collaboration with Sofia Coppola.

She also stars opposite Channing Tatum in the film Roofman, which will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
