Pramono Again Distributes Diploma Amnesty Assistance for 1,897 Students, Totaling IDR 7.69 Billion

JAKARTA – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has again distributed diploma amnesty assistance. In Phase IV, amnesty assistance was provided to 1,897 students whose diplomas had been withheld, totaling IDR 7.69 billion.

Phase IV amnesty funds were distributed in three waves. In the first wave, 774 students received IDR 3.61 billion. Overall, from Phase I to IV, funds disbursed reached IDR 12.03 billion for 3,212 students.

According to Pramono, many Jakarta residents are still hampered by delayed diplomas, making it difficult to continue their education or find formal employment.

"Some haven't received their diplomas for five years, others for two or three years. Some are even working while continuing their studies. Thank God, those who are continuing their studies have received the Smart Jakarta Card Plus (KJP Plus). Once they receive the KJP, their guarantee of completing their studies becomes better and more transparent," Pramono said at Said Naum Islamic High School in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, August 21.

Pramono emphasized that diploma amnesty is one of his and Deputy Governor Rano Karno's leadership priorities. He also encouraged Jakarta's children to take advantage of the capital's educational facilities.

"I want the diploma amnesty issue to be completely resolved, while also broadening the horizons of Jakarta's children to take advantage of existing facilities, such as museums, libraries, parks, and educational tourist attractions," he explained.

The former Cabinet Secretary advised aid recipients to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their quality of life.

"Make the most of this opportunity. Study hard, pursue your dreams, and make your parents and the people of Jakarta proud of their support. With hard work, sincerity, and focus, I'm sure this will be the foundation for achieving your dreams," said Pramono.

Furthermore, Pramono also inaugurated the Edutrip program, which was attended by 1,102 KJP Plus recipients from elementary, middle, high, and vocational schools, as well as 215 accompanying teachers.

Their departure was facilitated by school buses and included visits to the Jakarta History Museum, the MH Thamrin Museum, the Joang '45 Museum, the Wayang Museum, the Textile Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Art and Ceramics Museum, and the H. B. Yasin Library.

"My experience in the field shows that many children in Jakarta have never visited the city's facilities. For example, when I was in Ancol, just two kilometers from Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, many children had only seen it from the outside," added Pramono.
