British Authorities Plan To "Bungkam" Supercar At New Bond Street And Mayfair London
JAKARTA - British authorities are taking firm action against "disturbing" drivers who are speeding, racing and acrobaticizing on the streets of the region that is popular with supercars in London.
The Westminster City Council has prepared a proposal aimed at expanding the area where motorists can be subject to sanctions for their anti-social behavior, following increased late-night supercar activity.
The Public Space Protection order, which previously covered the elite Knightsbridge and Belgravia areas, is expected to expand to include Mayfair and New Bond Street.
The order was introduced in 2021 following persistent complaints about noisy cars such as Ferrari and Lamborghini speeding around the environment, and drivers speeding up engines at traffic lights or parking lots.
This order also includes a sudden acceleration ban, acrobatic action, horns, playing loud music, or driving in convoys.
This order can be enforced if the behavior has a persistent or unnatural negative impact on the quality of life of the surrounding population, with the threat of a fine of 100 pounds (Rp2,194,732).
Max Sullivan, a member of the Cabinet for Road Affairs, said the council would continue to take "an zero-tolerance approach to keeping our society safe and free to enjoy our city".
"ilegal and dangerous driving is a big problem on our roads, endangers lives, and disrupts the daily activities of city residents. We are working directly with the Metropolitan Police to handle meetings of illegal cars directly, assisted by the recruitment of 80 new local police officers, a high-specification CCTV network belonging to the council, and a team of strengthened city inspectors," he said. from The National August 20.
"The recent confiscation of dozens of insurance-free vehicles is a clear proof of our joint efforts, and we will continue to apply a zero-tolerance approach to maintaining the security and freedom of society in enjoying our city," he said.
The evidence collected by New West End Company (NWEC) shows that from April 2023 to June 2025 there were 33 car gatherings reported in New Bond Street with an average of 63 cars present at one time.
A member of the West End council from the Conservative Party, Tim Barnes, who often shares examples of annoying drivers on social media, said he was pleased with the proposed extension of the order.
The update and expansion of the order is backed by the Soho Society. Team leader Lord told Local Democracy Reporting Service, the late-night "race series" of Soho who was "very noisy" and appeared dangerous has scared visitors and residents.
Last year, hundreds of Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche were among the supercars whose drivers were fined for violating London's noise laws.
The council revealed 110 Lamborghini, 51 Ferrari, 39 Porsches, 12 Aston Martins and three Bentleys were among the confiscated supercars. There are also dozens of Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
Last week, a total of 7 million supercars (IDR 153,631,240,000), including an identical pair of purple Lamborghinis, were seized by police in London in an effort to counter antisocial and dangerous driving behavior.
The cars were confiscated in the Hyde Park, Kensington and Chelsea areas of the city, which are popular with visitors from the Middle East. Most of the cars were confiscated because the owners did not have the right insurance.

The tires were "burned" and left slip marks on the road, which then needed to be repaved, including among the existing complaints. Noise engines can also trigger security alarms in nearby stores.
More than 350 fines have been issued, with Exhibition Road near Imperial College being one of the most common locations for disturbing behavior.
