Im YoonA Cooking Course For The Role Of Chefs In 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty'

JAKARTA - Im YoonA is back acting in the latest Korean drama entitled Bon Appetit, Your Majesty. This drama brought him together with young actor Lee Chae Min in a culinary and royal-themed drama.

"Of course after King The Land, I feel good to be back with romantic comedy, and I make a lot of preparations with this drama," said Im YoonA at a Bon Appetit drama press conference, Your Majesty on Wednesday, August 20.

YoonA plays Yeon Ji Yeong, a chef with Michelin star status who is suddenly thrown into the past era.

"I've been cooking for a long time, but since taking this role, I've taken cooking classes and improved my skills," YoonA explained.

"I think it helps my role because I'm interested in cooking so when I learn food ingredients and recipes, some of them are familiar but there are also things I've just learned so that helps me get into the character," he continued.

YoonA underwent a cooking course three months before filming began. He is also assisted by teachers to prepare ingredients and cook recipes that are dominated by modern dishes.

Three months before filming, I learned to cook. Every episode later we have new food, so there are coaches who teach. That's how I can understand and process it," YoonA said.

"I'm interested in experimenting. The food menu is from the past but if you look at the dish, it looks very modern and this is something you can find today," YoonA said.

The Korean drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty tells the story of a modern chef who was thrown into the past and demanded to become a royal chef. He tries to melt the king's heart with his cooking.

Bon Aketit, Your Majesty will air starting August 23 on Netflix.
