Remembering Mpok Alpa, Nunung: 'A Great Woman, She Maintains Her Janin Despite Cancer'

JAKARTA - Nunung Srimulat remembers the figure of the late Mpok Alpa as an extraordinary woman and mother.

In the midst of grief, Nunung expressed his admiration for the fighting spirit of Mpok Alpa who never showed his pain and continued to prioritize the twin fetus even though he was battling cancer. For Nunung, Mpok Alpa is an inspiration.

"And the deceased was a great woman. She was enthusiastic, she never showed what kind of pain the chemo was like," said Nunung in the South Jakarta area, Tuesday, August 19.

The biggest fear is in Mpok Alpa's decision to continue to maintain her pregnancy, even though she knows very well the risk of spreading cancer cells that continue to lurk.

"So what about it, by defending the fetus, defending twins, even though he has to think about his cancer. Cancer can't be silent, he will keep running around," said Nunung in a emotional tone.

Nunung also recalled the last moment he met Mpok Alpa when he was pregnant. At that time, Mpok Alpa hugged him and cried, revealing that he was also suffering from cancer.

"I thought he cried at me like that... Then he said 'no mi', 'why?', 'I've been hit'. Hah, I'm just silent," he recalled.

For information, Mpok Alpa alias Nina Carolina died after 3 years of battling breast cancer on Friday, August 15 yesterday. Mpok Alpa is known to be closed due to this illness.
