NasDem Faction Reveals Carbon Tax Key To Increase Tax Ratio
The NasDem Party faction fully supports the 2026 state revenue target set by the government of IDR 3,147.7 trillion.
The 2026 state revenue target consists of tax revenues of Rp2,692 trillion, PNBP of Rp455 trillion and grants of Rp0.7 trillion.
Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction Ratih Megasari Singkarru said that his party considered the target to be realistic and in line with the need to maintain fiscal resilience and the national development financing space.
"The NasDem Party faction supports the government to accelerate the reform of the tax base expansion responsibly, while maintaining a business climate, investment sustainability, and protection of low-income people's purchasing power," he said at the 2nd plenary session 1 year session 2025-2026 while reading the General View of the NasDem Faction at the Plenary Session, Tuesday, August 19.

Ratih menyampaikan upaya ini tidak hanya dilakukan melalui intensifikasi pajak konvensional, tetapi juga dengan penerapan instrumen baru seperti pajak karbon untuk mendukung transisi energi hijau serta digital tax (pajak digital) guna merespons pertumbuhan pesat ekonomi digital.
Menurutnya, perluasan basis pajak diharapkan dapat mendorong peningkatan tax ratio secara bertahap, sementara penguatan kepatuhan berbasis data dan teknologi akan memperbaiki efektivitas administrasi.

Ratih said this effort was not only carried out through conventional tax intensification, but also with the application of new instruments such as carbon taxes to support the green energy transition and digital tax (digital tax) to respond to the rapid growth of the digital economy.
According to him, the expansion of the tax base is expected to gradually encourage an increase in the tax ratio, while strengthening data-based compliance and technology will improve administrative effectiveness.
