Eze And Guehi Become Hot Commodities, Crystal Palace: Don't Believe Transfer News!

JAKARTA - Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner advised supporters not to always believe what was read in the media about rumors surrounding the departure of star players Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze this summer.

Eze has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, while Liverpool are negotiating with Crystal Palace over Guehi's move.

There was speculation before the first week of the 2025/2026 Premier League match against Chelsea, Sunday, August 17, 2025, about whether Eze and Guehi would start or not. You see, there are more rumors of the departure of the two players.

The two players did start at Stamford Bridge, with Eze scoring from an amazing free-kick disallowed as Guehi fouled Chelsea's calf fence in a match that ended in a 0-0 draw.

Glasner insists that as long as Eze stays at Crystal Palace, he will play for the club, as well as Guehi.

"As far as I know, Eberechi Eze is still under contract with Crystal Palace. He is a Crystal Palace player."

"He showed it and as long as he's a Crystal Palace player and playing like this, he's going to play for us, no one telling me anything else."

"He was chosen because he's a Crystal Palace player. He's a very good Crystal Palace player, he trains all week. So, there's no reason not to vote for him," said Glasner.

Crystal Palace ended the 2024/2025 season with joy when they lifted the FA Cup at Wembley, thanks to goals from Eze.

Since then, supporters have had to wait anxiously for the future of Guehi and Eze in particular, as well as face the news that the Eagles will compete in the UEFA Conference League and not the Europa League.

After starting the season with a convincing draw at Stamford Bridge and winning Community Shield against Liverpool, Glasner suggested that maybe the speculation was just.

"This is not a personal matter with all of you (communicants), but advice for children, don't always believe what you read, especially on the internet, and it's the same here."

"Who knows this is true what is written, there are rumors and so many rumors. Everyone may say something for their own benefit."

"I observe the players every day, in training sessions, we meet them. Once again, if most of the things they write about them are right, they can't perform like this, the team can't unite like this, to commit to each other like they are - that's impossible."

"I'm quite calm, but I also know we have two more weeks (gaining the transfer market). I know the Ebs (Eze) clause is over. So, that's the club's decision. We'll see what happens later," said Glasner.

The transfer window closes on September 1, 2025. Prior to that, Crystal Palace will host Nottingham Forest on August 24, 2025 - the first match since the decision to relegate the Eagles to the UEFA Conference League and at the same time promote Forest to the Europa League.
