Narcotics Circulation Revealed In Gorontalo City
JAKARTA - Personnel from the Narcotics and Drug Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Gorontalo City Police have again revealed the circulation of methamphetamine in the Gorontalo City area, Gorontalo Province.
Acting (Plt) Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Gotontalo City Police, Ipda Nawir in Gorontalo, Monday said that in the disclosure, five residents were arrested at different times and locations on Thursday (14/8).
"We have secured five men, namely the initials SH, DL, MG, UN and R. Here is evidence of 20 packages of methamphetamine-type narcotics ready for distribution," said Ipda Nawir.
The disclosure of this case began with information from the public who knew that one of the initials SH often became an intermediary for the sale and purchase of methamphetamine in the Gorontalo City area.
Thanks to this information, the Narcotics Satres personnel then conducted an investigation, until they managed to find out the identity and whereabouts of SH, where the man was found to have just returned from Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province.
When SH was on Jalan Thaeb M. Gobel or Simpang Lima, Tapa Village, Sipatana District, Gorontalo City, the Narcotics Satresnal Team stopped the car driven by SH and conducted a search.
From the results of the search, the police found a food box in which there were two plastic KIPs suspected of containing methamphetamine, then another small plastic package containing 18 plastic packages containing crystal grains that were strongly suspected of being methamphetamine.

During the interrogation, SH admitted that the narcotics were entrusted by someone in Central Sulawesi Province, and had previously been ordered by a number of men in Gorontalo City.
It was through this information that the Police then succeeded in developing and securing four other people at different times and places.
Previously, these four people had ordered and received narcotics packages, so they were also secured along with a number of evidences, namely packages suspected of being methamphetamine and several objects suspected of being used as equipment for consuming methamphetamine.
"So we have secured five residents along with their belongings and evidence to the Gorontalo City Police Headquarters for further investigation and legal proceedings," he added.
