Looking At Puan's Satire To Gibran During The MPR Annual Session: Handlines To Hands
JAKARTA Political communication expert, Hendri Satrio assessed that the speech by the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, at the 2025 MPR annual session, which stated that democracy was influenced by the lines of action, interference, and intervention were self-contained to Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"Even in my opinion, there are less than two, namely signatures and applause," he said, Sunday, August 17, 2025.
According to him, this statement could refer to Gibran's soaring political career. Hensat interprets the lines that Puan mentioned as a lucky factor that played a major role in Gibran's political career.
"In a political career, yes, someone must look at his lines or have prepared them, and usually it should be done, so there is further interference, intervention from the stakeholders, for example, such as recommendations," added Hensat.
Meanwhile, the term "piece" can be interpreted as a gift or gift that can please the constituent or the bearer, not in the context of bribery but in the distribution of social assistance or the like.
"After that he was elected, he signed. Elected," he continued.

Hensat stated that in her speech, Puan not only touched on the lines or interference, but also the importance of public support which was represented as applause from the people.
This refers to Puan's sentence which states that democracy does not stop at the ballot booth.
"Well, who is the applause? People. But also Mbak Puan said, democracy does not stop at the ballot booth, so the people must remain critical," he said.
