Government Promises To Achieve Food Swasembada In The Next Three Years, Zulhas Disburses This Strategy
JAKARTA - The government promised to continue to strive to achieve self-sufficiency in food, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) emphasized that food self-sufficiency must be realized in the next three years.
"Mr. President (Prabowo) emphasized that food self-sufficiency must be realized no later than 2-3 years," Zulhas said at a press conference at the head office of the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.
Zulhas prepared three steps so that food self-sufficiency can be achieved in the shortest possible time. First, optimizing agricultural land, by forming several Presidential Instructions (Inpres) such as the Presidential Instruction to cut distribution channels, the Presidential Instruction for the development of agricultural irrigation and the Presidential Instruction related to farmer counseling.
"First, optimize the land. Later, there will be policies such as the birth of several Presidential Instructions, for example the Presidential Instruction, the Instruction Instruction Instruction and other Presidential Instructions," he said.
Second, namely clearing new agricultural land such as a new rice field printing program, modernizing agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan), developing seeds and others.

Third, to make the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) effective, which is currently quite positive. With the Red and White Village Cooperative, it will be able to cut the supply chain which is still quite long in the village, making food needs tend to be hampered.
According to Zulhas, the Red and White Village Cooperative can also become an important infrastructure for the government, especially distributing commodities in villages, including to fulfill the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program at the village level.
"With the Kopdes, which later we will have 80,000 networks, that will be the government's infrastructure. Including later to serve nutritious food in each village," he added.
