Support President Prabowo Brushes 1,063 Illegal Mines, Deputy Head Of DPR: Restore The Nation's Self-Defense

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker (Waka) of the Indonesian House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal praised President Prabowo Subianto's speech at the MPR RI Annual Session. Cucun also expressed his support for President Prabowo's plan to bring order to 1,063 illegal mines.

According to Cucun, President Prabowo's decisive step is an effort to restore the nation's sovereignty, as stated in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. And aim to fully maintain the welfare of the people.

"It is extraordinary, how to restore the identity of this nation constitutionally, namely Article 33 which became the main issue earlier. So we appreciate how Pak Prabowo's spirit is to return everything that this republic has to the hands of the republic and become a benefit, the welfare of the Indonesian people," said Cucun at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

Cucun said the Indonesian House of Representatives would follow up on the President's discourse through the relevant ministries to immediately invite the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to a working meeting in Parliament, specifically discussing the control of thousands of illegal mines.

"Just imagine, earlier he burned all the enthusiasm, 'Come on, members of the DPR, the people's representatives support me'. Yes, of course, if he has a purpose, good intentions to return how all the natural wealth was, everything was returned to the state," said Cucun.

"We have to support such a commitment, return Article 33," he continued.

Cucun said the DPR will also support President Prabowo's government programs, such as free nutritious food (MBG). Where the MBG budget for next year reaches IDR 217 trillion.

"He explained that we have seen several successes. BGN, the MBG are already running, the people's schools are already running. Then we just have to support it with the new budget finance in 2026, the supervision is also ongoing," said Cucun.

"If I opened it earlier, 'Our supervision is, right, I am not anti-criticism and I am ready to be criticized'. That's why I, as the leader of the DPR, especially at the Korkesra in his field, touched many Korkesra, I appreciate the government's performance, which counted 299 days earlier," he continued.

Cucun also appreciated the President's acknowledgment of Indonesia's weaknesses, including economic distortions, which were used as a reference for intervening to realize the welfare of the people.

Cucun hopes that the government will be consistent with the consequences that must be taken from every policy. Especially in fighting poverty with a comprehensive system to tackle the economic gap in society.

Cucun also supports President Prabowo's move which has also inaugurated DTSEN as the basis for national social policy accuracy, namely the government's program to eradicate poverty so that it is right on target. As well as inaugurating public schools to break the chain of poverty.

In addition to renovating 13,000 schools, President Prabowo will also distribute 288 thousand TV smarts to all schools so that children can take virtual lessons and teachers.

"There are 20 excellent schools to catch up with us in science and technology and 80 schools are superior in transformation. Then there are renovations in more than 13,000 schools and madrasas, as well as the distribution of 288 thousand smart TVs to the public," concluded Cucun.
