RI's 80th Anniversary, KDM Urges Regents And Mayors In West Java To Waive Tax Arrears

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has issued an appeal to regents and mayors throughout his region to waive individual Land and Building Tax (PBB) arrears.

The appeal was issued in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2025.

"In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence, the West Java Provincial Government urges or invites, as the authority lies with regents and mayors, to grant waivers for individual Land and Building Tax (PBB) arrears for all tax categories, starting from 2024 onwards, as is the case with motor vehicle taxes," Dedi said in a video statement uploaded to his official Instagram account @dedimulyadi71 on Friday, August 15.

Dedi emphasized that the heavy tax burden should be eased to encourage the public to pay taxes on time and in accordance with regulations.

"This is being done to build our morale. The heavy burden on the community should be lightened, and furthermore, we should foster a tradition of paying taxes according to the established values and not burden them," he emphasized.

According to Dedi, public awareness of paying taxes and the government's ability to manage these revenues will significantly contribute to the common good.

"Hopefully, this appeal will be heeded, and we all share the same spirit that West Java Province is built with the full awareness of all levels of society," he explained.

He said the official appeal letter will be distributed to all regions in West Java starting today, Friday, August 15th.

"This is an appeal to the regents and mayors throughout West Java province, and the appeal letter will be distributed today to all regions in commemoration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day," he concluded.
