Ukraine Gets 1.5 Billion Dollars From European Allies To Buy US Weapons

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv is currently securing a $1.5 billion disbursement pledge from his European allies to buy US weapons. The purchase of this weapon called Zelenskyy will strengthen Ukraine's defenses from Russian attacks.

"Until today, we have been promised $1.5 billion. Through the initiative of the NATO Priority Requirements List for Ukraine, NATO members can work together to buy US-made weapons for Ukraine a mechanism that really strengthens our defenses," Zelenskyy wrote on X.

He said the Netherlands contributed $500 million, Denmark, Norway.

Meanwhile, Sweden collectively promised $500 million, and Germany committed another $500 million.

Regarding the meeting of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelenskyy confirmed the need for a Russian-Ukraine ceasefire after negotiations with European leaders and US President Donald Trump. Ukraine is emphasized to need fair peace.

"There must be a ceasefire first, then security guarantees, real security guarantees," Zelenskyy said.

"President (Donald) Tump expressed his support for that," he said.

The President of Ukraine has emphasized that Russia has no veto right to European views, including NATO, against Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine and their European allies want peace in Ukraine.

"Sanctions must be strengthened if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire in Alaska," he said.
