Pleidoi Rejected By Prosecutors, Fariz RM Not Disappointed

JAKARTA - Senior musician Fariz RM showed an extraordinary strong and confident attitude even though the memorandum of defense or plea he submitted in narcotics cases was rejected by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

Instead of feeling disappointed, Fariz RM actually stated that he would continue to respect and follow the ongoing legal process.

Met after a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Fariz RM confirmed that the rejection was part of the procedure he had to go through.

"Not disappointed (pleidoi rejected by the prosecutor). It has not yet arrived at the end, meaning that everything is still in process," said Fariz RM, Thursday, August 14.

In the midst of a tough legal process, Fariz RM relies on his belief in three main things: God, the state, and the legal institution itself.

"I believe that as a Muslim, Allah SWT knows exactly what happened. As an Indonesian citizen, I believe that my country is a country that has definite laws," he continued.

"And as a defendant in this case I believe in the legal process carried out by the legal institutions involved. That's all, actually," continued Fariz RM.

Now, he can only wait for the next stage, namely the duplicate until the final verdict is handed down by the panel of judges. Regardless of the final result, Fariz emphasized that the main focus now is to be a better person.

"So let's just look at the duplicate until the verdict. The point is that I want to improve myself optimally," he concluded.

The same thing was also said by Fariz RM's attorney, Deolipa Yumara, who was not disappointed with the prosecutor's rejection of his client's plea.

"Oh, and our prosecutors are never disappointed. Because there is always rationality in arguments. So if we don't know disappointment. That's it. Sad, sad, it's not known in the world of lawyers. We have to be rational, so there's no disappointment," concluded Deolipa.
